The first poem I ever fell in love with was Dylan Thomas’s “Do Not Go Gentle Into that Good Night.” I believe my mother read it to me, or perhaps it was Rodney Dangerfield’s inspired re-telling (It means, “I don’t take shit from no one!).

Either way, the rich tones of the poet’s own voice show how Art can just be beautiful, without the philosophical-metaphysical calisthenics of the Modernists or Post-Modernists.

Fierce tears, indeed.
